I got one of those laser pointer keychains. Figured the cat would LOVE that.
Shine it around and such, going nuts. Crawford kind of watched the laser for a few minutes, yawned then looked up at me like I was an idiot.
Update: He does not want the laser light. He does want the metal keychain attached to it.

So my column for next week is on Oekaki forums. The problem is, art. I have no pictures to go with it and I need between 2-3 pictures.
Are there any oekaki artists on my friends list? Do you know one? Work-safe images please. I'll credit you in the article as the image source.
If it's video game related, even better!

I was looking through Snopes.com and just found out about this great website called Let's Say Thanks. Xerox allows you to send free thank you cards/postcards to troops. You pick out the card design and message, and it gets sent to a random military member. Nice idea. :D
Okay, so here's how the Thanksgiving has gone so far:
Thanksgiving Day: Celebrate with aunt and cousin. Meal at Old Warsaw restaurant and socializing at aunt's house afterward. Was very tasty and good.
Day After Thanksgiving: Celebrate with parents. Mom and I made dinner. Turkey, though made like usual and such, came out horrible. Not my moms or my fault, just it was a bad bird. Mom guilt trips everyone into eating it anyway.
Day After Day After Thanksgiving: Was supposed to be big dinner with Dad's side of family. Cancelled because Natalie's husband Vince had the heart attack, surgery and is in the hospital.
Day After The Day After The Day After: Hospital visit to Vince. Perhaps celebrating with that side of family afterwards. Not definite yet.
And thats pretty much it.

I love white castle stuffing. <3
My mom made TWO big trays of it this year. One's gone, and I absconded with the second one, to nosh over the next couple days.
Yum!

My cousin Natalie's husband, Vince, had a heart attack today.
Ironically, today is also his 45th birthday.
Just found out. (My aunt called - I see that side of the family for Thanksgiving on Sunday.) Technically, it happened last night. He woke her up and asked her to take him to the hospital because he didn't feel right.
Natalie bitched and told him to go back to sleep. When he kept saying so, she said, "I've got cramps too goddamnit, leave me alone!" (My aunt lives with them, so that's why I get this high level of detail.)
Then I guess Vince couldn't take the pain anymore and told her to call 911. Then she finally said she'd take him to the hospital, so they wouldn't have to pay for the ride.
Sure enough, heart attack. Had to have an angioplasty. One artery was 75% blocked.
It figures, kind of, because that runs in his family. His father died when he was 36 from a heart attack.

Yay! New Super Mario Bros wii & a lot of other good stuff has been added to Lockerz. The Skull Candy headphones are cool too. Probably won't get it though. Only cause they run out of stock SO QUICKLY! Even though I have enough for headphones or the game.
Its those damn Z-Lister people. The ones who spam 20 friends to get 20 people invited. They get extra points each day and first access to the point shop. I don't want to spam people on my email list or Facebook friends, so I'm not one.
Thought I'd ask one last time here though, since people can just ignore it and not bother reading if they don't want to. :P Anyone on my LJ friends list who'd want an invite?

Well, ordered my annual Play-Asia Christmas present to myself. :P Okay, honestly? Play-Asia always sends out Holiday coupons and every year I take advantage of it because $8 off an import game is a pretty good deal. But it seems nicer to think of it like this.
I ordered Ranshima Monogatari Rare Land Story. It's a Princess Maker style game and it looks adorable. I've been wanting it for a while, waiting for its price to drop and a coupon to show up. And both happened.
The only downside is, it's listed as 1 week wait on Play-Asia, which can mean anywhere from 1 week to 2 months. Sigh.
Anyways, everything else is good here. Got to go home early today, which is awesome.
A question f-list - is that Lambert American Idol runner up always that terrible a singer? As I was driving home, his new "hit" came on. "For Your Entertainment." It was the worst song I have heard in the last year and his voice was absolutely terrible. I listened to the whole thing and didn't switch the channel, thinking that it would maybe get better, or maybe I was missing something because there must be something about his voice that made people make him the runner-up. But nothing.
Is it just that his one song is awful? Or is he really just that bad all the time and he made it to runner up because of hype and sensationalism? I asked my neighbor when I got in - she's an idol fan and was out finishing up raking some leaves when I pulled in - and she said that he's very showy and not all that special.
She just dropped by a few minutes ago with this Kris Allen guy album. She told me to take it, listen to it and hear how a real American Idol sounds. I guess I found out which one she supported.
I stopped watching American Idol the year after Fantasia won. :P Just stopped being interesting and it kind of seemed like the show was maybe rigged so certain people would do better than others. (I did like Fantasia though and was glad she won!)
Is the Kris Allen album worth listening to? I'm going to busy the next couple days, and I really feel bad about keeping stuff from other people longer than a week. I'm not sure I'd really have time to listen to it. Should I just burn it into iTunes and let it fester, until one day one of the songs comes up in iTunes DJ and I find out if I like him or not?

I don't know if anyone else is watching the Dancing with the Stars finale...
... but what happened to Whitney Houston?!?!
The drugs really messed her up bad! Both her performances were horrid. Thank God her background singers were good and could salvage everything.
She couldn't even dance anymore. It looked like she was even having trouble walking.
She couldn't even hold sustained notes, kept going off pitch and it seemed like with "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" that she was forgetting the lyrics.
Its such a shame. I used to LOVE her. I have about 20 of her songs in my iTunes. This was such a disappointment.

I didn't care for Precious, but I LOVED The Blind Side.
Mya, Kelly and Donny are in the finals for Dancing with the Stars!!!
I had the BEST dream about Simon Baker (star of The Mentalist) last night. XD
Just joined Poupeegirl as well. Anyone else playing? I could use friends to help boost my ribbon count. You can see my very sadly dressed Poupee avatar here. Seriously, it's pitiful. I'm considering taking pictures of and uploading every designerish clothing/accessory/makeup item I have to get more clothes and ribbons.

Is anyone on my friends list playing?
I've done three free-play matches so far. The first went really well. The second two, I ended up being the second highest level person in each group. (My HUmarl character is level 12 now, level 10-11 at the time.) In one, two of us ended up doing all the work while the other two would hide and not do SHIT. In the one I just played, there was a guy mage at level 20-ish, then my level 11 HUmarl, then a level 7-9 ish human fighter and a level 15 mage girl.
The mage girl did absolutely nothing. She hung back at least three areas behind the rest of us. When we got to a gate where all four of us had to be there to go through, she wouldn't come! The 20ish guy bailed, but the other guy and I went back to convince her to come back. So she comes with us to the gate. We get throught. We were in the water/marsh area, and there were two big, strong bird enemies - one with a white shadow meaning it was stronger. The other guy fighter tried to help, but they were really too strong for him. (I had to resurrect him even.) We kept saying, "Help" but that other character would only go "Ha ha ha" and ran back a couple areas. FINALLY I beat it, but there's another one of those gates you have to all be at the same time to go through. So I ditched.
So, I've decided to pretty much screw free play - I want to go with friends only play.
Here's my info - add me if you want to play and post your info too!

Right now I just have the HUmarl fighter character. She knows heal and a few magic spells, but mainly I just rely on potions. I typically have her fight with daggers, a claw or those twin gun things.
I have a level 1 HUnewearl, but I think I'm going to erase it and make a mage or gunner character.

I LOVE Amazon's game trade in program!
I had gotten Astro Boy: The Video Game for DS from Siliconera. Sucked. Sucked hard, horribly and was quite possibly the WORST DS game I ever had to review.
GameStop offered me $5 for it. $6-something if I bought something else instead of asking for cash.
Amazon game be $27! I shipped it off today. :D Good riddance.

I am spending my Saturday night (well, starting at 8pm anyways) watching Dirty Jobs.
And right now it is hilarious. :D He was just cleaning the Brine Tank at the Mandalay Bay.

It's still weird celebrating my birthday without my grandpa.
In case you're just tuning in, my grandpa and I shared a birthday. He died in 2007.
We always used to spend the day together to celebrate. And since then I haven't really "celebrated" my birthday. It just doesn't feel right to do it without him yet.
Yes, I'll do something with the family near the date, but on the actual day I've usually just had dinner with my parents the past two years.
It just feels weird.

Just got back from celebrating my mom's and my birthdays early with my dad's side of the family. Didn't go too badly. My aunt made my grandma's cheesecake in lieu of an actual bakery cake, because I don't really eat cake (aside from red velvet) and my mom and cousin both wanted that.
My cousin, her husband and their son actually got me a gift I like! Well, a part of it. Usually I get crap from her. Either cheap crap she found at Walmart, Kmart or Target (which I then can't return because it was on sale or something and I end up donating to Goodwill) or bath & body-esque stuff that's either an imitation or a scent she obviously didn't like because you can tell a small portion's been used. Also, bear in mind, she's a psychologist and her husband got a large inheritance two years ago.
Part of her gift was cheap crap - a Family Dollar scarf/glove/hat set and a keychain that probably came from the same store.
The other was Viva La Juicy lotion. I prefer the standard Juicy Couture scent, but I really love Viva La Juicy as well!
I can't tell if it's been used at all - feels like it hasn't really been touched - but she seemed surprised I actually liked the scent. She was like, "Wow. Well I'm glad that you like it." Note: In person the emphasis was on the you.
Who cares though? I finally got a gift from that side of the family that I like!

My 100th column at Gamertell ran today!
http://www.gamertell.com/gaming/com ment/important-importables-100-interesti ng-games-you-must-import-to-play/
Yaaaay.
But it kind of took me a long time to actually think up 100 games. Usually I write the column a week in advance, but didn't finish this one till Tuesday. (And then on Wednesday, when I was taking a second glance over it, I counted and realized I had 103 games instead of 100. Oops.) And this week and the next are quite busy, why with Halloween, my birthday and my mom's birthday. Thankfully, I was told I can take a week off next week, to catch up.
That isn't too bad, right? It's the first time I've ever actually taken a week off from writing the column, and since I did 100 of them before I needed a one week break, I think its deserved. :D

I can't wait for dinner tonight!
A few nights ago, I discovered Dominicks has this tilapia stuffed with crab and lobster that you can buy and cook at home. I had it once and it was extraordinary!
I got a piece yesterday for dinner tonight. Yum!

Ugh. There's one tooth on the bottom left side of my mouth. A filling had to be put in, and part of it went below the gum line. So now, every once in a while, that gum area around the tooth gets all irritated and achy.
And today is one of those days.
Stop aching gum! Nothing's wrong there! I brushed twice this morning, and every time I look everything looks fine - though a little irritated in that spot!
